My grandmother has a blistering Massachusets accent, and until I was thirteen and saw "Good Will Hunting" I thought it was some kind of impediment. My affection for the chewy New England vowels was revived this week by this article about Senator Kennedy's distinctive voice and this mention of one of Ben Affleck's finest performances.
